R2T was responsible for the development of a Dynamic Water Demand Forecasting Model for the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority. The project incorporated modeled demand allocations provided by Cobb County in ArcGIS to develop a tool in MS Excel that captures population and employment changes at the census-tract level through year 2050 to forecast future demands. The tool also considers per-capita use changes according to MNGWPD published data, non-revenue water, and various sources of design factors for peak water demand. It also includes the ability to simulate new agreements or changes to existing agreements with wholesale customers billed through master meters. The selection of various inputs through drop-down menus, such as one of many population forecasts, enables rapid sensitivity analysis while also simultaneously producing tables of projected demands for easy inclusion in the hydraulic model for CIP modeling. The tool also provides several layers of automated QC and summary charts and figures.
