Committed to Quality and Focused on our Clients

A note from Kimberly and George Ajy, Founders of R2T:
Everyone who knows us will agree: we do not like to talk about ourselves. When asked about how we got here, we will usually pivot to talk about R2T and the spirit of commitment and excellence that has grown around our team and the work we do.
We have been engineers for over thirty years. We’ve worked for large corporations, where the skillsets were broad but the human touch was light. We’ve also worked on the utility side, where deep dedication and high standards were the norm.
When it came time to venture out on our own, we knew exactly what we wanted: a company that is intentional about producing good, important, and necessary work by focusing primarily on what our clients and staff need to excel at the highest level.
When George was the engineer of record for a $320 million water supply project for the City of Atlanta, he spent nearly three years on the project, devising a suite of solutions that’s allowed Atlanta to provide drinking water to residents for up to 90 days regardless of what happens to the electrical grid or the reservoir. The project won awards and is heralded as a major engineering achievement, but it came at a price for us at R2T: we spent so much time and so many resources on the project, we had to turn away new work.
It’s a price we have always been happy to pay. We are engineers and scientists. Thinkers and innovators. We are not accountants looking for the fastest and cheapest road to the bottom line. Instead, we’ve taken what we’ve learned over the years from corporate–the importance of a diverse set of skills–married it with what we learned from the utilities–the importance of deep engagement with a problem–and put together a team that does what’s right–hard or not–in partnership with our clients. At the end of the day, if we can say we spent our time finding the best solution, we’re going to call that a good day.
A project-first, client-centered company. And a team that questions, probes, and innovates until the job is done at the highest level. That is what we’ve built at R2T. We hope, in some way, that this work says something about us and our values, as well.
